Well as i predicted the blues got a win with their new manager, and bluenoses at work are acting as though they have won the european cup (some chance) and villa have been relegated in the same season, of course them being 12th has put them in the belief that they could end up in the top half of the table by the season end, this of course is possible but so is winning the lottery.
The defeat by Arsenal was dissapointing, but Villa played them off the park second half and although we lost I was proud in the way they played, never giving up and showing the teams in top 4, that there is a team around the corner who does not fear them and in a couple of seasons we will be challenging for top honours.

Aston Villa v Arsenal
Well on the eve of our first true test, against the gunners tomorrow 1/12/2007 and i feel that Aston Villa will show a good account of themselves. Conversly on the blue half of the city, Birmingham will be playing their first game under their new manager. As history shows that a team usually wins when they have a new manager, no doubt a blues win will get the poor cousins bragging how they will beat the Villa in april.
Europe
The boys in claret & blue are looking good for a european spot next season, i hear that Birmingham City will be good for Europe next year, I hear their new manager will be taking them on holiday to Majorca when they are relegated.
Villans Everywhere
I was pleasantly surprised to see on the web how many Villa fans there are around the world. there seems to be an wider interest in Aston Villa with various supporters clubs some of these include this one i have found in New York USA.

Aston Villa Vs Birmingham City
This derby is without doubt vented with hatred for each other that equals the derby in Glasgow. Aston Villa are without doubt the better side having won 22 major honours including the European Cup (Which only 4 English clubs have) Birmingham City have won one major trophy (League Cup) in 1963.
In recent years, Aston Villa have met their rivals in the league 9 times with Birmingham City having the upper hand Winning 4 out of nine losing 3 and drawing two, but overall Aston Villa have won 48 games lost 37 and drew 29 in all encounters Birmingham City have scored 150 goals compared to Villa's 175.
With the arrival of Birmingham City into the premiership after many years in the wilderness of the lower divisions, can they become a major force in top flight football, many critics believe them to be a mediocre club with limited success or ambition to challenge the big guns.
Historically Birmingham City have had a dismal success in competitions and compared to clubs in similar cities in England are quite low down in the order of 92 Football Clubs who make up the league in England and Wales. Birmingham City are 55th by comparision Liverpool (1st) Everton (5th) Manchester Utd (2nd) Manchester City (8th) Arsenal (3rd) Spurs (6th) Aston Villa (4th)
